AVS was set up to respond to the growing need of volunteer support in the services that Adom Fie rendered in the area of Catholic Renewal and Evangelization. AVS is made up of a small team; Director, Volunteer Coordinator, Volunteer Officers.

VOLUNTEERS

The harvest is plenty but the labourers are few. Adom Fie continues to pray for the Lord of the harvest to bring on board more workers. Due to the fact that funds are not available to engage all the workers on full and part-time basis, Adom Fie has created an environment where volunteers are engaged to support the Kingdom work. The recruitment and management of these volunteers is done by the Human Resource Desk and in the Youth Department with an oversight responsibility of the Youth Administrator/Volunteers Coordinator.

FRIENDS AND PARTNERS

In as much as the Centre wants to do her best possible to reach out, it is also faced with some challenges. The Centre runs the numerous formation programmes at highly subsidized costs to make it affordable for many people. In the same way, reaching out to dioceses and other countries has always come with financial demands. The need for continuous staff support, equipping the Departments and Offices at the Center and sustaining and maintaining the Centre, have always brought huge financial demands, and yet, it is a non-profit making body.

It is therefore worthy to mention that the story of Adom Fie is one woven by people and groups who have responded to the call to share in the mission and vision of Adom Fie (House of Grace).

Among these people are a very special group called ‘Friends and Partners.’

These people are individuals who have identified with the mission and vision of Adom Fie and share in it with their substance. A Friend of Adom Fie is one who has committed himself /herself to contribute a minimum of ten cedis (GH¢ 10.00) a month, and a Partner, a minimum of fifty cedis (GH¢ 50.00) a month towards the ministry of Adom Fie.

THE FRIENDS’ AND PARTNERS’ BENEFIT

Friends’ & Partners’ Day: Adom Fie celebrates all Friends and Partners on every first Thursday of the month. On this day, text messages of goodwill are sent to all Friends and Partners, and fervent prayers are said for them. On Sundays, Mass intentions are also put in for all Friends and Partners.

  1. The Friend or Partner can always be assured of the love and prayer support of Adom Fie.
  2. Partners also get to attend some specified programmes of Adom Fie on voluntary donation basis, instead of paying the charged fee.
  3. Friends and Partners periodically receive updates on the ministry of Adom Fie, with emphasis on how their contribution is blessing others.
  4. Friends and Partners are furnished with free copies of One Bread One Body (OBOB), a Catholic Devotional Guide and the quarterly News Letter of Adom Fie- Adom Link.

Those who sign up as Friends and Partners have the privilege of indirectly partaking in the missionary and formation work at Adom Fie.

The one who signs up as a Friend or Partner gives to support God’s work, and this calls for the windows of heaven to open forth on him/her.

With humble beginnings, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Centre started operating from a rented apartment in July, 1991. However, in response to the call of the Decade of Evangelization (1990-2000) by the then Pope John Paul II, now a Saint, the National Service Team of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR), Ghana, launched the CCR-Ghana Vision Statement and Committed to build a National Formation & Service Centre.

As the name suggests, it was to be a place for the formation of leaders, the training of evangelizers, and the coordinating Centre of the Renewal in Ghana. The foundation stone of the Formation and Service Centre was then laid on All Saints Day, November 1, 1995. In the Jubilee Year of 2000, the Office of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Centre then moved from the old Adom Fie (the rented apartment) to the current location at Santasi, Christian Village- Kumasi.

In this year 2017, Adom Fie celebrates its Silver Jubilee since the beginning of its operations. The Centre, ‘a home away from home,’ as has been described by many who have come into contact with it, offers Coordination, Leadership, Evangelization, and Formation Services (CLEFS). These aside, the Centre also offers spiritual direction as well as counseling services for the holistic growth of the Christian.

To ensure the full satisfaction of people who come to the Centre, hospitality services are also provided. As strides are made to rub shoulders with the changing modes of the world and also provide materials for those who search for more knowledge and insight into Christianity, the Centre is soon to commence an ultra-modern and technologically driven Christian library. This multi-media library will be opened to all those searching for qualitative material to nurture and deepen their Christian faith and belief.

All year round, formation programmes are run for diverse groups of people, from priests and religious to the lay faithful, and for leaders and non-leaders alike. Missionary activities are also embarked on yearly to many dioceses in Ghana, and to other African countries like The Gambia and Guinea Bissau, and also to the US to mainly strengthen and build the Ghanaian Catholic Communities. All of these activities are geared towards bringing about Renewal and Evangelisation. In order to effectively operate, the Centre works with seven (7) Departments with twelve (12) full-time ministry staff, thirteen (13) supporting staff and about twenty (20) volunteers.
